The amazing Niagara Falls.. overnight trip from Newyork!

We were in newyork and decided to visit Niagara Falls ( the US side) for 2 days. We did do a lot of research to figure out the optimum time, how to ge there etc. finally decided to go through a tour. One can also driver down to niagara or take the public buses  however the last mile connectivity was a challenge.

We took the Take Tours tour and met our tour guide at 8am at the designated spot. And off we were to witness the miracle of nature.
Niagara Falls is a good 7-8hr Bus ride from NYC. Enroute there are some beautiful sights one shouldn’t miss. First stop was the Corning glass museum – a glass museum which also demonstrates the process of glass blowing. After spending 2 hours including lunch we set off to the next spot – Glen Watkins State park. I really was amazed by the state parks and photos I had seen so far and was glad we made this stop. A nice, refreshing walk through nature, upto an awesome waterfall and one hour later we felt as refreshed as ever! Highly recommend!!

Now off to Niagara! Cant contain the excitement!

We reached Niagara to witness the immense power of the Falls at Night. Mesmerizing.. no words at all to describe the beauty. Awestruck! We then called it a night to wake up early as we were to ride up to the falls!
Next morning, we got up early to start our day at Whirlpool state park – where we could see Canada right across the river. A quick photo op and we moved on to Niagara Fort. Lovely weather, beautiful landscapes and a zillion photos later we made it to the Falls. We then took our tickets and proceeded to the Cave of Winds. This gives you views of the American falls and bridal falls. You look up and the sprays from the falls hits you right on.
Post that we proceeded to the main attraction – the Maid of the Mist boat ride. The excitement was at its peak. We proceeded down the lift, wore out ponchos and boarded the boat. The boat takes you right up to the main Horseshoe falls and then takes a turn and comes back. And its something you should not miss!! It is so awesome! The might of the falls, the cold water, the speed and the wind.. OMG. Experience of. Lifetime!
P.S. make sure to keep your phones and other valuables in a plastic cover as you will get a bit wet.
With the adrenaline still rushing, we started our journey back to NYC.
